Boy do I know it :)
This was mine when the downpipe separated from the headers. Gorgeous, gorgeous noise (and it doesn't sound half bad with the exhaust connected).
There are some Fezza V12s, a couple of straight sixes and the GM V8 in this Bizzarrini that might disagree with your comment, but it's definitely in the 'earporn' hall of fame.

It's not mutually exclusive.
I think a lot of Americans have a jaded view of V6s after being exposed to a good number of fairly uninspiring ones over the years.

I still hold this is the greatest sounding ever. Period, I have a small block daily, and this sounds much much better.

True. Especially with the Columbo V12 as competition, but I think it holds itself up rather well*.
*there's definitely some bias there though
